Our Story

We make wedding veils in small runs. Ivory is held in stock and reaches you in about a week; Cream and Champagne are made to order.

Where this started

Sovelle started with a price tag. A simple tulle veil, $800, because a designer's name was on it. We kept asking why. When we looked closely at what goes into a veil, and what gets added on top before it reaches a bride, the answer had very little to do with the veil itself.

So we decided to do it the other way round: price a veil at what it costs to make well, and tell you everything about it before you buy.

What we found when we looked at the numbers

A veil is tulle, thread, and a comb. The materials in most bridal veils cost a fraction of what the veil sells for. The rest is retail rent, sales floor commission, wholesale margin stacked on wholesale margin, and the fact that the word "wedding" attached to an object reliably multiplies its price.

None of that makes a veil better. It makes it more expensive to sell.

We sell directly, we make in small runs, and we price each veil at what it costs to make well plus what it costs to run a small business honestly. That is how a cathedral-length veil here starts at $119 instead of several hundred.

We are not going to tell you a veil is worth what a boutique charges. We are telling you what ours costs, and why.

Why we make in small runs

This is the part of our model most likely to shape what you can actually buy, so we would rather explain it than bury it.

We produce a small quantity of each style, hold it ourselves, and ship it from our U.S. warehouse within 3–5 business days. We do not run large batches. Ivory is the color we keep in stock; Cream and Champagne are made after you order, and the product page tells you that before you pay.

We do it this way for two reasons. The first is that we are new and we do not yet know which styles brides will actually want. Producing a hundred of the wrong one would mean either sitting on it or discounting it, and a brand that discounts its way out of bad forecasts ends up pricing that risk into everything else it makes. The second is waste. A small run that sells through is a run where nothing ends up in a clearance bin.

What that means for you: what is listed in Ivory is genuinely in stock, it reaches you in about a week, and you have 14 days from delivery to send it back if it is not right.

What we won't do

  • We won't invent an original price. You will not see a crossed-out compare-at price next to ours, because there never was one. Our prices are our prices.
  • We won't round a number in our favor. The Close Up sits with our cathedral veils, but it measures 98 inches from the comb, and the standard cathedral range starts at 108. Most shops would let the category do the talking. Its page gives you the 98 inches instead, and explains what that means for how far it trails behind you. Every veil we sell lists its actual finished drop, in inches and centimeters.
  • We won't photograph a color to look like something it isn't. Ivory is our stock color, Cream and Champagne are made to order, and our Color Guide shows you how to check each one against your own gown in daylight, so you know which will match before you order.
  • We won't write our own reviews. Sovelle is new and this collection launched in 2026, so there are not hundreds of reviews here. We would rather grow slowly on real feedback than fill this page with anything less. If you are one of our first brides, we will ask you for an honest review after your wedding: good or bad.
  • We won't promise a date we can't hold. If your wedding is inside two weeks, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether we can get it to you in time.

Where we are

Every Sovelle veil is designed in New York and made in China by our manufacturing partner. We hold the finished stock ourselves and ship every order from our U.S. warehouse.

We also have a studio in Manhattan, Sovelle Studio, open by appointment only. The studio is where we create made-to-measure gowns, and that work is what pays its rent. Veils are not how the studio makes its money, so none of that rent is built into what a veil costs here. What it gives you is a place to try a veil on with your gown and check the color in real light. Book an appointment at sovellestudio.com.

Sovelle is run by two cofounders, and we do the work ourselves. One of us comes from fashion wholesale, which is how we know what a veil actually costs to make and where the markup gets added. The other comes from tech, business and sales, and makes sure what you read on each page is measured, not rounded. When you email us, you are writing to one of us, not a support queue.

Made your way

If you want something we don't list (a different shade, length or edge, or a veil from a photo you love), we can make it. See Custom Veils for how it works.

Talk to us

We are small enough that an email reaches an actual person. If you are deciding between two lengths, or you are not sure which shade works with your gown, write to us: we would rather talk you out of the wrong veil than process a return.

Send a daylight photo of your dress and we will tell you what we think, honestly, including when the answer is that you should buy something else.

hello@sovellebridal.com. We reply within 1 business day.
